Amigurumi is the art of making stuffed toys using crochet techniques. My first project was an angry bird for Jacob, and the pig to go with it, and since then I have made characters for many of my friends and family. Baby toys are particularly good projects, and I have made a turtle and giraffe so far. For my family, I have made a hedgehog for my Nan, a dragon for my Mum, and a dinosaur for Steve. For myself, I'm working on a collection of horror movie related characters. First up was a cuddly Cthulu, which was the mascot for Fright Fest 2011, and I have a Jack Sparrow (not horror but a movie none-the-less) and I have an amazing pattern for a patch doll just like Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. |
