Most galaxies reside in groups and clusters interacting with other galaxies and surrounded by gas and dark matter. My research looks at the hot gas, which is emitting thermally in X-rays, and how the gas properties - denisty, temperature, pressure, entropy and cooling time - vary with radius.
By dividing my sample of groups of galaxies into subsets; those with and without radio sources, and those with and without cool cores, I can investigate what properties are affected by AGN heating and how different properties are linked. |
